This picture was not taken by me, I found it at http://www.survol.de/ffm/ffmpic/ffmbilder.htm, but it's perfect for comparison with your father's picture (actually it's my picture; CLICK HERE to see it). The large building at the left is an art museum, the building at the right is soon to be demolished and replaced with a more sensible reflection of the former Altstadt.
