Every time we get together, we watch some interesting movies and series in
the evening.
Menschen am Sonntag (labeled People On Sunday in the
US packaging) is a 1929 German Weimar-Republic silent film by a group of
highly talented filmmakers who would later become famous, including
Billy Wilder,
Robert Siodmak,
Edgar Ulmer, and
Fred Zinnemann.
It's a film without actors, a plot, a script, or stage makeup. It follows a
group of ordinary Berlin working people on Sunday, their day off, and it's
amazingly sharp and clear.
