The Bank Street Bookstore, southwest corner of 112th and Broadway,
with Tom's Restaurant reflected in the window. This is the former
site of Moon
Palace, a cavernous Chinese restaurant of the old school with spacious
booths and big tables instead of postage-stamp size tables crammed together in
a tiny space, squeezed out by skyrocketing rents in 1991 after about 30
years on this corner, with its distinctive enormous vertical neon sign.
