| This was the entrance to our apartment ("Basement East"), whose window (on the left, behind the blue garbage can) is now covered with plywood. Even when we lived in it, it has a "Condemned" sign. There was no bathroom, but the kitchen had a shower stall, and the kitchen sink did double (sometimes triple) duty. The toilet was out by the boiler. The apartment cost $70 a month, split two ways. |
