The tall building partially obscured by the foliage is on 103rd Street. Local legend has it that it was built in the 1920s by Communists who wanted create a worker's paradise, where everything is owned in common, and there are museums, theaters, and all kinds recreational and cultural resources for the tenants, and nobody is making a profit from it. At one time I know it housed a museum of Tibetan art. I should look it up but who has time. |
