Beautiful - Friday 3/1/96 NYC Loft Party

pretty phat party - a loft space up 7 flights or so in the 20ths.
You know what - it was *damn* nice to be able to take a subway to
a good party. That was such a great feeling that is not
reproducable anywheres! (NYC got the public transport down well,
just needs to start having more good parties!)

things pretty chill to begin with - arrived at the map point
around 10:40pm (across from Billy's topless at 24th and 6th-a
famous place according to some), and things are behind schedule
so everyones chilling. 

good size crowd, which unfortuneatly was sitting half the night
and yakking - but I was guilty of that part of the time, since I
wore the wrong shoes - ouch!

anyways, was kinda weird to be there the ENTIRE time. Got to see
the party transform from lights on, testing the turntables,
lights, etc. Turns out they had the manual out and couldn't get
some sort of fancy vari-light or something to work, but tell you
what - it wasn't needed. :) [Maybe next time...]

music was slamming, seemed to get harder as the night went on -
I'm really bad with DJs and music, so someone else will have to
fill you in on that. BTW - I liked the last DJ, spinning Aphex
Twin, slower stuff, different stuff - hard to dance to, but worth
it! Um, but people were up front dancing the whole time, doing
different things, and just having fun all around. That was nice.:)
Also - Bobble's flashlight Batons became a hit later on, with
people dancing around them, using the beam as a prop (I was doing
this earlier), and so on. :)
