Feminine Melody. Baltimore, MD. March 23, 1996. Wow, a fresh party from the start (well, except for the Mud!) However, those that were there early, had a nice grassy field to dance on. It was *SO* refreshing to be at an outdoor party - yes it was chilly, but dancing solved that problem fast. The music was ALL good - sadly I didn't recognize the DJs as I had only seen Sista Spinsta spin out before. The harder trancy stuff made my night (hmm, actually the more melodic house was nice too - good to have a mixture of things...) - and beginning with the Goa was really sweet. How come more DJs don't play this at parties? (Or rather I guess the question is why don't more promoters book such DJs? Its really *RICH* material that deserves to be heard.) The lights/sound were really good too. Speakers were LOUD, but I had my cheapo disposable earplugs, and they REALLY helped. The lights/fog/lasers/strobes/etc really surpised me. I did not expect to get that "warehouse" total-emersion feel from a tent outdoors! But props as that worked. I guess the "smaller" size of the tent amplifed these effects. One unfortunate thing, the second tent never got going as a gas main broke or something equally serious (as I think James said - it would have been the no smoking tent. ;) )which would have meant no heat, which meant we had one tent - which was good to keep everyone together. And while it would have been good to have had "Masculine Harmony" and heard some new talent, it wasn't necessary either. There are enough "all male" parties already. I'm sad some of the DJs there last night aren't invited to spin at more North East parties. Jackie spoke of her fondness of Italy. :) Shout-outs to everyone dancing at the very end! How long did the party go for anyways? I think we left around 9ish? Before shoutouts, just wanted to say Eric and I had the pleasure of Jackie Christie's company on the way back to NYC. It was a nice way to continue the vibe back to the big city. :) Who did I see/meet? Karin & Jeremy/Edwin - everyone - JEREMY has finally gotten a job!! yay! Thus they were able to go to both Buzz/FemMel when thinking they wouldn't be able to otherwise. Everyone at the apartment of love and happiness who didn't go to the party - Velure, Heather and Devin Hugh - thanks for all the candy and hugs Chris S/Razour - thanks for the friendship, and uh, other things. :) Eric - thanks for being there, and a ride in a fresh sports car! the DE crew! Who all are you? (Um, dAN/Deliverance, Monica, Bryan, Jenni, others who I'm not sure if I met.) John/Sandman Danny/Tranced - there were only a couple of us from NY/NJ area... Kittyn -woowoo Dan Freelove and Andrea...yay! Nice to see you both. :) Piper - hey girl - you left a bunch o'people out of your review! (Don't worry tho!! ;) ) Eric from DC?? Jammin' James - nice new pad! Chris from Johns Hopkins Margaret Jenka Doug-e Barnes Andrea / Genius - wild dancing gal! loved the tamberine Steve Harvey Shadow Twizzler Chris (newly Baltimorian. :)) Jamesc (who gets my vote for the long-range dance endurance award!) Mike S./Gator Craigd Sarah S. Bev Who was the person who is going to be the Easterbunny at the whitehouse this year? Are you gonna take James suggestion and wear a big cut out E on your chest? ;) oh shucks - there are a few others I don't remember the names of!! sorry...Come up and say hi to me next time to remind me. :) Didn't catch Dirceuru - who I wouldn't have minded speaking to - despite his seemingly unpopularity on the list. Last thoughts, while the vibe was good, I saw frowns around and people who were very negative to be simply smiled at. Dunno what that was about. In any case, this was an extremely fun party. okay, that's enough - I've got to get back to other stuff Damned hard when I'm still trying to dance! :) love, /Michael - sentinel
