Tsunmai -- Roseland Ballroom, NYC, NY January 18, 1996 WOW, what an amazing party - first it was amazing to groove with everyone to two hours of Hugh Sharpian-goa downstairs -- did ya tape it?? ;) Next was the main floor -- amazing production, total top-notch results in terms of decorations, projections, lights, totally turning the roseland environment into something totally new and different. The sounds was a little eh, boomy in the bass and all, but not totally mangled ;) The enviornment was quite amazing - total frenzy on the dance floor and soothing chill on carpetted areas in the back. I didn't stay the whole time as this was my friend Karen's first party and she felt she needed time and space to understand what she absorbed. I think she'll be back to dance dance and dance tho :) DJwise, I enjoyed Electric Hugh, Hallucinagin was absolute pure energy, and others were good but I was less aware. Vibe-wise things were nice - lots of friendly people, stickers, candy, glitter and the like. Size-wise it was a busy party but it wasn't overcrowded the way you all have reported past Roseland parties have been. The net meet was sort of sketchy since I didn't know if it was supposed to be at the main bar or the rear bar. A bunch of us went to both and found people at both! Lots of net folks which is always fun... No line on entry, but they did take my water bottle and flyers that I was planning on handing out...
