I am a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (C2B2) and Department of Biomedical Informatics at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, working with Prof. Raul Rabadan. My current research is in Quantitative Biology, Computational Virology, Molecular Epidemiology, and Metagenomics. I am especially interested in studying the genetics of viruses and their evolution. Prior to joining Dr. Rabadan's group, I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate and a member of the Observational Cosmology and Gravitational Lensing group at Brown University, where I defended my Ph.D. dissertation in Physics in August 2007. I was born in Tehran, Iran on the first day of 1979. I am also a photography enthusiast!
