Graffiti
Graffiti started to appear around New York city in the 60st. They were on the subway train, on the store front, and on the floor. As the official started to clean up the city to attract tourists, graffiti have been cleaned up too. At SoHo, once populated by struggling artists in need of big space and cheap rent, now occupied by fancy stores and art gallery, graffiti disappeared like the artists who created them. A very few graffiti left in this area are the witness of a time when art were created with honest personal expression, not just a kind of vandalism as what some people regard.
