Deep

While most people spend their evenings engaged in profound discussions about provoking existentialist philosophies, significant theologies, and matters of world peace, I found myself involved in the following exchange:

- Was MacGyver in the Special Forces?
- No, no. No. He was a Marine.
- Are you sure? I think he was in the Special Forces.
- I think you are wrong.
- Well he was definitely in the military.
- Well duh! Where else would he have learned such tricks! Not in college, that's for sure!
- Ha! What if he went to Engineering School?
- Doubtful. I went to Engineering School, and they never taught me how to build a bomb from a paper clip and a bit of string.

Every now and then, we need to let the brain just stop and engage in such debates. Besides, MacGyver did not learn such tricks in engineering school. He figured them out on his own, which is why he had his own TV show.

macgyver was neither special forces or marines. he was ex cia/fbi or something to do with espionage.

and btw, MOST people DO NOT spend their evenings engaged in such endeavors as you describe. in fact, your discussion about macgyver is probably a lot more cerebral than what MOST people talk about.
