It is: " The Yiddish Dictionary Sourcebook: A Transliterated Guide to the Yiddish Language" by Herman Galvin and Stan Tamarkin (Ktav Publishing, 1986). However, I'm afraid that it would have a very limited usefulness for his purposes. Almost every Yiddish article in Mendele goes into my Yiddish Typewriter program to improve my dictionary and respelling lists. I get about 10-15 new entries for each article. If you want to try out the spelling checker, try the URL listed above. Refoyl Finkl 5)---------------------------------------------------- Date: Mon, 6 Jan 1997 23:06:09 -0800 From: ltomlins@direct.ca Subject: Man/woman duets in Yiddish theatre I need to find several excellent Yiddish duets for a man and a woman (tenor/soprano). I would be especially pleased to find and revive pieces that have not been performed for a while, perhaps from Yiddish theatre. I hope to find a humorous piece with a lot of tongue in cheek lyrics, much like Finjan's "I need a man". I also hope to find a more emotional love duet. Please help. Lisa Tomlinson 6)---------------------------------------------------- Date: Mon, 6 Jan 1997 23:09:29 -0800 From: ltomlins@direct.ca Subject: Yehoash's Poetry Many thanks to all the kind writers who helped me find Yehoash's translation of the Tanakh. I have not gotten any responses to my question about Yehoash's poetry, so here I try again. I know that there exists a "facing page" (Yiddish/English) edition of some of Yehoash's poetry. Who published it? Where can it be found? Also, does there exist an Yiddish translation of (parts of) the Talmud?
