Jayson Kim is a veteran in the retail industry having held leadership roles at several Fortune 500 retailers, including the J.Crew Group, Jones Group, and Nokia Corporation. Throughout his career, Jayson has lead various business strategy, strategic planning, retail marketing, and product merchandising organizations in the broader direct-to-consumer retail vertical for various fashion lines such as BCBGMAXAZRIA, Max Azria, Herve Leger, BCBGeneration, J.Crew, Original Penguin, Jantzen, Perry Ellis, Anne Klein, Nine West, Easy Spirit, Bandolino, Jones New York, and Barneys New York.
As a dedicated alum, Jayson has played an integral role in energizing Columbia's community of giving. In addition to his contributions to the Alumni Fund, he is also a contributing member of Columbia's Technology Acceleration Program for entrepreneurs in collaboration with Legendary Ventures. Since inception, the program has provided critical early-stage funding to support new multi-disciplinary research endeavors with the potential to accelerate innovation in business and technology across the public sector. The program awards approximately $3 million every other year in the form of two-year grants averaging about $150,000.
