Press nicknamed her Hillary
Topolanek's wife Paula that is

It isn't the main news that after several weeks of political wheeling and dealing, finally the deadlock was broken, Prime-Minister Paroubek's (CSSD) government resigned and head of the recent victorious ODS Mirek Topolanek was assigned to form a new Czech government. (See HERE)

The main news of the Czech after-election political scene is that his wife, Paula Topolanek, in a press conference just announced her candidacy for a senatorial seat. She was well known for several years as the brain of her husbands political rise up to the ODS chairmanship (in 2002) and instrumental for the ODS victory in the last elections (41% over CSSD 33%, Communists 13%, Cristians 7% and Greens 6%)

The real news-bomb was that Paula will not run for the senate seat under her husband's party (ODS) but for the newly formed ODS-competitive party Politika 21 formed by Ms. Bobocikova "which is exactly in accord with my political opinion to the right and the electoral district Ostrava is for the city which I always considered as my home", Paula added.

Her husband, holding his new prime-ministerial appointment only a couple of hours, in an interview for the Lidove Noviny daily admitted some domestic difficulties and that the Paula's announcement was for him a sweet political revenge.

The Czech press has no name for these acts of Paula, so they nicknamed her Hillary, the internationally accepted positive successful political action with some meaning (apparently leading for a female presidency - see our article of 2002 HERE http://www.columbia.edu/~js322/nyl/2002/1/hillary.html).
