illuminata, directed by John Turturro (Green Street Films) and Luminous Motion, directed by Bette Gordon (Good Machine) are among June Stein’s most recent film appearances. Her other appearances include Tim Robbin’s Bob Roberts and Sidney Lumet’s Q & A. Off-Broadway, she has originated many roles including the role of Roberta for John Patrick Shanley’s Danny and the Deep Blue Sea opposite John Turturro;  Beth Henley’s The Miss Firecracker Contest and Am I Blue? among many others. She has directed world premieres of plays by John Patrick Shanley, Lanford Wilson, John Bishop, Ned Eisenberg, and Wendy Hammond for Circle Repertory Company, The Magic Theatre, The Vineyard, E.S.T. Marathon, Capitol Rep, and N.Y. Stage and Film.

June has taught both actors and directors for 20 years, and has been on faculty of Columbia's  Graduate Film School for 15 years. She has also taught at The Stella Adler Studio and at Circle Repertory Theatre, where she was a Company Member.
