These are some pictures taken around 1971. The top one shows my mother
holding a sport model of my own design. Unfortunately, it was lost on its first
flight at Mitchell field - it hit a thermal and drifted out-of-sight over the hangars;
I was never able to find it. The bottom left photo shows my sister holding an
all-balsa oldtimer, I don't remember the name anymore (any modelers out there?).
You can also see the hangars of Mitchell field. The right bottom photo shows me
(age 16) launching the old timer. You can see the Nassau Coliseum, which wasn't
finished yet, in the background.
