Providing vision, leadership and strategic direction for the planning and use of information systems and technology in support of Columbia’s vision and core values

Defining and communicating a progressive vision for existing and emerging information technologies at Columbia, and opportunities for IT to support for teaching, research, and administration

Establishing policies, standards, procedures and infrastructure necessary to support the information needs of the University

Establishing and maintaining an atmosphere of innovation and creativity, and continually assessing and adopting emerging technologies to assist Columbia toward achieving its mission and goals.

Developing and cultivating relationships with regional, state, and national information resource organizations, and industry, and facilitating entrepreneurial relationships
