QQ者，本名立群，网称"凌云舞鹤"，平湖人氏也。生于江南水乡，感天地之灵气，其文理皆有可观者。自幼熟读圣贤书，虽于僻壤小镇之中，文明教化之影响，不亚于人也。乃吾之好学，成绩卓越，常以此而悠然自得，飘然不知其所处何地也。然到大学后，方知天外有天，人外有人，己不过一井底蛙耳。盖井底之蛙成语，乃为余准备者也。

吾之大学生活，可谓顺利。自大一至今，尚无功课重修，且偶有奖学金进帐，此乃吾人生之准则发挥作用之效也。"学则学好，玩则玩好！" 此吾一贯作风是也。然大二始，沉溺于internet中，此玩物丧志之表现，虽吾之不齿却不可自拔！若后来人，得吾之教鉴亦恍然大悟，此文乃作用之发挥也。 吾虽趴网经年，然至今仍止于潜水，深感无知。QQ常于睡前发誓："待鸡鸣，定不敢阅八卦耳！"然无聊之际，鼠标常不听使唤也。哀QQ之不幸，源于BBS也！

QQ重交友，仗义疏财，为气人侠，相投之友，不可胜数。虽对文学热爱，然读书实则不多，究其所涉猎者，不过熟读统计之格致，GRE，TOEFL之西文。读书之余，也好以流行之音乐悦吾之双耳，虽无三日绕梁之美妙，然对我等凡妻俗女，已知足矣。

嗟夫白云苍狗 盖时间之匆匆 有若白驹过隙也。不觉间，二十有六。吾常低头做深思状，决充分利用时日，不虚度这光阴！

Hello, this is Liqun Xu, or Xenia. I'm from China, a beautiful country with 5000 years history and traditional culture. I love my motherland, and will be proud of being a Chinese forever.

Where it all began...

I was born in Pinghu, a "Venice" city in China on November 15, 1980. "Liqun" was given by my father, which in Chinese, means supereminence like a elegant crane standing in a group of chickens. My father gave me this name and hopes that I can be elegant just like a crane and outstanding in some field.

The early years...

I had a happy childhood in my hometown. I could hike and ride to countryside with my parents and friends at weekend, sometimes we could fish there. My parents never pushed me for anything, they considered my opinion first.

At my elementary school, I developed my passion for chinese tradistional painting. Paiting was always just as important as any other subject. Though, painting was big part of my life, my work always came first. Math was always my favorite subject in school, and from Algebra to Calculus, I always took pride in being the best in the class.

Growing up...

In middle school, I spent a lot of time doing homeword and watching TV. I guess I haven't yet mentioned my bad TV habit. Most school days, I would watch TV while doing my homework. I also spent my life at library, enjoying the sunshine while reading magazines, not textbook :).

The college years...

On the strength of my high scores in the National University Entrance Examinations, I entered Fudan University, Management School, which is located in the financial heart -- Shanghai and one of the top 3 universities in China. I chose Statistics as my major, which contains both of my interests in finance and mathmatics. My favorite subject was still math, now advanced Calculus, but I had a new interest -- Computer Science. I learned first C, then some application softwares, such as SAS, SPSS. In my extracurricular time, I also discovered a new talent in computer-based design. I self-learned PhotoShop, Dreamweaver, Flash, etc.

At Fudan, I met the most important person in my life, my husband Hui. We married at 2003, just after my graduation. I got three certificates that day, one for graduation, one for diploma, and one for marriage.

After 4 years at Fudan, I had fallen in love with Statistics, and decided to pursue further degree abroad. Then University of Florida gave me the offer, he hugged me with blue skies and warm sunshine.

After three and half years at Florida, I got my master in Statistics and minor in Finance, but I have long-distance lived with my husband for so long time. I decided to quit my PhD, move to north, share our sweet life together.

Now, I'm master student in Operations Research at Columbia University. It's one year program, so I expect to work in 2008. I am taking 4 courses this semester, and hunting for job meanwhile. It should be a busy year for me. But I like the New York rhythm, different from the school life in Florida, challenge to me. But it's my weekday life.

In weekend, I enjoy the life with my husband at New Haven, CT. We climb the East Rock, crab on the beach, and prepare delicious food. I found my life's meaning rather than the PhD degree.
