Most constructs are variables. One use of educational measurement is to describe variables in human populations. A main purpose of this book/module is to illustrate methods for designing/selecting effective assessment tools that will help us gather information on variables with the desired levels of precision and accuracy. Data generated from assessments are used to support a wide variety of decisions and for evaluation purposes.
