Using 1/4" and 1/8" cherry stock and walnut, I built a set of four nesting boxes; each subsequently smaller box is built to half the length of the previous scale, creating an array of storage sizes.

Each box uses simply miter cuts at the side joins, dado cuts for an inset base piece and rabbet cuts to allow the lid to form a pressure-fit with its corresponding container.
