Ars Gratia Pecunia. A while back I stylized the predicted 3-D structure of a peptide based on the mRNA for a gene we
discovered in my lab, studying the the cDNA library derived from a surgical specimen from a patient with a AAA. I took
some artistic liberty with the 'cartoon', rounding out some connections and joining the N-terminus with the C-terminus
to make a continuous loop. Then, I had a local studio of stained glass artisans render it for me, approx ~<2 ft x ~<4 ft,
for installation as the window in my kitchen door. To have a look, click on The Molecule

I have done the signature glass pieces for a limited edition of fifty. There will never be more than 50 signed
iterations. It costs me about $4000 to have a window made. Thus, 04/05 will have to be priced at $4000. Thereafter,
05/50 will be $5000. 06/50 will be $6000. And so on. Now, if you wish to own one of these pieces, you should
decide how much you would like to give as a tax-deductible contribution to the restricted account named "Special
Fund for Resident Research" at the tax-exempt St. Luke's/Roosevelt Hospital Center. Then, add that to the base price
to cover my expenses for the rendering, and that is your total. For example, if you want #10/50, you would snail
mail me two checks: One, for $4000, made out to me personally to cover the rendering, shippping and handling. Two,
another check for $6000 (tax-deductible for you) made out to the St. Luke's/Roosevelt Hospital Center as a charitable gift. When I receive
your pre-paid order, I will start the artisans on the work. Depending on the workload at the studio, I think we could
ship to you in approximately 1-2 months. If you place an order, I will find out from the studio approximately what
date that you could anticipate shipping. If you would like more info about the studio, Google 'Wilmark Stained Glass'.
