About Dr. Lau

I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Counseling Psychology Program at Teachers College, having first joined the program as a Full-Time Instructor in 2007.

I completed a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.  As a graduate student, I studied under George S. Howard, a counseling psychologist known for his work in a number of areas that include research methodology, philosophy of science, and ecological psychology.

I've been trained clinically in a variety of settings including schools, community mental health centers, and college counseling centers.  My predoctoral internship experience was at the University of California, Irvine Counseling Center, a program with a long history of commitment to multicultural counseling training.   Currently, I maintain a small private practice in psychotherapy and organizational research consultation.
