Research Approach
My research inquiries in the field of social human behavior revolve around several questions: What happens to individuals when social structures break down? How do organizations react to the introduction of new rules? How do actors interpret rules? And what explains the patterning in time and space of social behavior? These questions place my work in two fields—historical sociology and organizations—and I answer these questions using quantitative methods and network analysis.  My interest in methods has directed my research toward methodology and the understanding of how social scientists use their tools for measuring human behavior.
