I am from the north suburbs of Chicago (Gurnee, Illinois). I received a BS in Physics from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana in 2006. There I worked in Professor David Ruzic's Plasma-Materials Interactions Group and at the plasma engineering company Starfire Industries.
