I am a Ph.D. candidate in political science. I study international relations and comparative politics. My specific research interests include theories of political integration and disintegration, globalization, international organization, civil war, nationalism, formal theory, and American foreign policy. My dissertation investigates the causes of political fragmentation, secession, and the long-term trends in sovereign state birth.
