Latinos For Positive Images, founded in 1995, is a network of individuals and organizations in and out of the media who are concerned with fair images of Latinos in the media.

We exist to help empower the community with information relating to media and our images in the media. We also exist to provide support for Latino artists already in the media and to provide opportunities and support for those striving to get into the field, through our network of contacts. It is our desire to mobilize the Latino community to use its economic power to demand and get better and more representation in the media and beyond.

From July 11th until October 24th, every other Thursday, LPI will hold media panels, entitled, "Bridging Latino Artists and the Community: Support is a Two-Way Street. Through a panel discussion and subsequent dialogue, we will explore how Latino artists and the community can better support each other to ultimately create a strong American Latino media/art movement that will have significant cultural, political, and economic benefits for the Latino community. Reading and resource material will be available at all panels.

These panels are co-sponsored by the National Congress For Puerto Rican Rights.
All panels will be held at
Place: The United Charities Building
105 E. 22nd Street (Park Ave. South)
*unless otherwise noted, from 6:30-9:00pm.*
Cost Al1 panels are $5.
