About Me

I am working at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital's Value Institute where I leverage clinical data and scientific methods to study and improve the quality and safety of patient care. I am dedicated to translating innovative tools and methods to the hospital setting. I am also a faculty member in Columbia's Department of Biomedical Informatics.

I completed my thesis work with Dr. Noémie Elhadad in 2016. We studied large-scale mining of the electronic health record and in particular worked with narrative text. Our work focused on the development of high-throughput computational tools for summarization of patient records across many different data types (medications, laboratory tests, diagnosis codes, and clinical text). The thesis was chosen as the inagural winner of the AMIA Dissertation Award!

I received my undergraduate math and biology dual-degree at Northeastern University and worked with Dr. Peter Tonellato at Harvard Medical School. We created mathematical simulations to further personalized medicine and promote use of genetic information in the clinic.

If you would like a better sense of my work, please refer to the publications listed below.
