Among the many artifacts that I found at an abandoned gold mining camp was this weathered vent pipe. The rich, rust-filled surface provided a good opportunity to display the effects of the elements on unprotected metal. The gaping hole in the pipe may also be a remnant from someone else taking aim and "shooting" at the pipe (like the sign post in the first picture).
