ELEN E4321 - Analog Integrated Circuits - Project

Designing a low-power, high unity-gain-bandwidth op-amp

What's this?

On this page, you'll find information regarding Bhargav's analog circuits project that he completed in the Fall of 2007.

Project Description

The goal was to design an operational amplifier to be used in a low pass filter. The specifications (PDF) for the project were very clear-cut, with bonuses for hitting certain (high) specs. The schematic was built in Cadence Virtuoso Schematic, tested in Cadence Analog Design (previously known as Analog Artist) employing Spectre (as the simulator) using 130nm IBM BiCMOS technology (obtained via a student Non-Disclosure Agreement through MOSIS).

Report

The project report is available here (PDF). Supplemental material such as graphs  are not part of the online report.

Acknowledgments

Bhargav would like to thank adjunct faculty Timothy Dickson for emulating a real-world scenario for the project, as well as course TA Colin Wu for his commitment to resolving student issues.
