Every once in a while, we are lucky enough to meet extraordinary people who change our lives forever. This page will reveal how a wonderful, loveable, and just oh so cute person, such as myself, came to grace the world and made it a much better place for everyone else (opinions to the contrary are not permitted here).
As the map above suggests, I was born in the Philippines among the native tribes in Itugon, Benguet. My family lived in Baguio City, the "summer" capital -- about 6 hours north of Manila. We emigrated to the US in June of 1988. I recently returned to my native land after 10 years and have included some pictures that you might find interesting. For more information on the Philippines, check out Philippine History 101.
Within these past 10 years, I have spanned the US, living in different states, and meeting different people. If you want a more detailed account of my escapades, check out the Where Speedy's Been section.
I am now attending Columbia University and I hope to graduate in May 1999 with a Bachelor's in Economics (and with it, I shall rule the world, Pinky!) There are many different clubs and organizations on campus and I am part of the Hiking and the (unofficial) Skydiving clubs. I shall be joining the Aikido Club in the fall.
My interests are very eclectic. I adore the performing arts. Take me to a Broadway Musical and I'll be yours forever. I was very involved in choir, drama, and dance clubs (and won awards during competiton) in high school. Time constraints have not allowed me to pursue the same interest in college, but I hope to change that in the coming semester. I love to sing and dance. If you take me to a karaoke bar, be prepared to stay for a "long" time. Other than heavy metal or old country music, I enjoy all types.
I also play tennis and I like the occassional "friendly" basketball game-- that is, if my co-players are 5'2" or shorter =). I have rapelled and rock climbed. One of these days, I will skydive. That said, I also like to veg out and just watch Pinky and the Brain (I need notes for my world domination scheme) or curl up and read a good book/series such as the Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice.
Overall, I am an easy-going person and I like meeting new people. So now that you know what my likes and dislikes are, better get on my good side before I take over the world. It's easier to catch me on the way up!
And before I forget, I would like to thank Pinky, err -- David W. -- for helping me with the map above.
