MEAP is a collaboration between the Columbia University Computer Music Center and the Electrical Engineering department. MEAPsoft is a program written in Java that slices up audio based on beats or events and lets you rearrange it according to features like pitch or average power. Fun Stuff.

Jeff Snyder is another MEAP member who has been developing a capacitance-based musical instrument with 84 copper pads that send finger pressure (surface area) data to a computer over USB. Now that he has a working prototype he's working on getting a larger production run.
