I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Electrical Engineering Department at Columbia University. My advisor is Professor John Paisley. Previously I have completed my B.S. and M.S. degrees in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department at Bilkent University, in my hometown Ankara. During my M.S. I worked with Professor Sinan Gezici. My current research interest is in decision theory, statistics, learning, and computation. Several of my recent projects are:

  • Time series analysis with matrix factorization: learning and forecasting.
  • Nonlinear Kalman filtering using information-theoretic divergence measures.
  • Convex relaxation of statistical learning problems with provably low sample complexity.
