The Marvel Universe is the shared universe where the stories in most American
comic book titles and other media published by Marvel Entertainment take place.
Marvel Comics were written by Stan Lee, who actually appears in almost all the Marvel movies.
Marvel superheroes such as members of the Avengers, are from this universe.

Captain America

Steven Rogers, a.k.a Captain America
Former World War II soldier. Decades later, became the leader of the Avengers after being saved by them after being frozen in the North Atlantic.

Iron Man

Anthony Stark, a.k.a Iron Man,
Billionaire industrialist and inventor and former CEO of Stark Industries. Built the Iron Man Armor and is a founding member of the Avengers.

Spider-Man

Peter Parker, a.k.a Spider-Man, a teen from Queens with spider like abilities who was recruited by Tony Stark.

The Hulk

Dr. Bruce Banner, a.k.a The Hulk, Genius scientist who, due to exposure to gamma radiation, transforms into the Hulk whenever his heart beats at intensified speeds. One of the founding members of the Avengers.

Thor

Thor Odinson, Asgardian warrior-prince, God of Thunder, superhero and self-proclaimed protector of Earth. A founding member of the Avengers.

Black Widow

Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a Black Widow, Former agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Expert martial artist, impressive interrogation skills, and competent scientific mind and hacking skills.

Hawkeye

Clinton Barton, a.k.a Hawkeye, Former agent of S.H.I.E.L.D, and founding member of the Avengers. World's greatest marksman armed with a recurve bow.

Scarlet Witch

Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. Scarlet Witch, Capable of engaging in hypnosis and telekinesis. The younder twin sister of Pietro Maximoff. She transitioned from Ultron's crusade, to the Avengers in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Quicksilver

Pietro Maximoff, a.k.a Quicksilver, genetically enhanced Sokovian citizen capable of moving and thinking at superhuman speeds. The older twin brother of Wanda Maximoff. He joined the Avengers in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Black Panther

T'Challa, a.k.a Black Panther, the prince of Wakanda, until the death of his father, T'Chaka. He aligned with Iron Man to achieve his own deeply personal goal - Revenge.
