RESEARCH

For my doctoral research, I am interested in measuring the environmental effects of traditional rural conservation practices in India. In particular, I plan to study community conserved areas, which are pieces of land that are managed and used solely by indigenous communities. By using on the ground measurements and remote sensing, I hope to assess the forest composition and structure as well as the resulting ecosystem services of these areas.
