RESEARCH

I am broadly interested in biodiversity, particularly in the Neotropics, and how biodiversity declines impact ecosystem services and processes. I am also interested in ecological history and how natural history collecting hasÑand continues toÑinfluence our scientific and cultural understanding of biodiversity generally, and naturally and artificially rare species specifically.

PAST EXPERIENCE

My past research has focused on the phenotypic variation of the introduced plant species, Ricinus communis, across geography and the associated ant-plant interactions, tropical forest plantation dynamics in Costa Rica, and the impacts of an introduced insect on two species of Lantana (one endemic and one invasive) in the Galapagos archipelago.
