Welcome to the homepage of the Institute of Social Analysis! We are a global voluntary association that was originally established by scholars at Columbia University in New York City. Our goal is to foster and disseminate independent perspectives on development issues, based on sound reasoning and evidence. We wish to foster improvement in the transparency of decision-making and in the extent and quality of public debate. The current focus of our work is on global poverty estimates.
