Leadership

Leadership is an engineering discipline: create clarity, put decisions with the people closest to the work, and build the feedback loops that make the whole system better.

Context before control

Explain the why, the constraints, and the customer. Strong teams make better local decisions when they can see the whole system.

Ownership with a clear bar

Give people real problems to own, define what good looks like, and stay close enough to unblock—not to take the work back.

Build the team, not just the roadmap

Hire for judgment and slope. Invest in honest feedback, technical mentorship, and opportunities that expand each person's range.

Reliability is cultural

The best operational systems come from calm habits: explicit tradeoffs, useful reviews, blameless learning, and steady follow-through.

Away from work, I reset through photography, travel, soccer, basketball, badminton, and time with our Shiba boy.
