   with lands extending from the Balkans to Mongolia)

4. Turkey-NOT-turkey (due to disagreement between Turks and 
   turkeys on who should have the capital T)

5. Midnight-Express-Ville (due to fear of over-exposer of Top 
   Secret Turkish Government files)

6. Turkalonia (sounded too much like Babelonia)

7. Kurdistan (sounded too much like there are Kurds in Turkey)

8. Cool-Country (Tourist Dept.'s fear that people seeking hot 
   weather wouldn't visit Turkey)

9. Turk-o-Rama (Fear that American kids would make fun of people 
   named "Turk")
