WELCOME TO THE 2nd WORKSHOP ON THE FUTURE OF MIR ========================= f(MIR) 2010 is over, it was a great success, thanks to everyone who participated / attended! The program is out, take a look here! Organized as a parallel session of the ISMIR conference, this meeting is solely organized by students. The goal of this workshop is to discuss what would likely be MIR research in 10, 20, or even 50 years! We aim at presenting roughly 5 papers. EVERYONE CAN SUBMIT, NOT ONLY STUDENTS! In particular, you do not need to have a student co-author on your submission. Therefore, in your opinion, what algorithm will solve all MIR problems? will musicians be replaced by robots? how can we compose differently music with an infinitely fast internet? In brief, assume that all problems that we currently investigate are solved in 10 years, what do we do next? Here is an example submission from last year [pdf].
