Project: A computer project is required only for E4060 students, using any computer language. A suggested topic will be given, but individual students can also make the choice of their topics. Even students with no previous computer background will easily be able to complete a suggested simple project, using MATLAB. Collaborative projects are allowed and encouraged for student pairs of different discipline!
Exams: Midterm and final exams will be closed-book.
Grades: The grade of 3060 students will be determined by weekly homework (10%), two midterm exams (25% and 30%), and the final exam (35%). The grade of 4060 students will normally be determined by weekly homework (10%), one extended midterm exam (30%), a final exam (30%) and a project (30%). Depending on the work put on the project by the student and subject to agreement prior to its submission, the relative weight of the project can be made slightly higher or lower than 30% with proportional adjustment of the other weights.
Hardware Requirements: PC with access to the web
Sofrware Requirements: MATLAB Release 14 (included in the textbook CDROM) which will also be available in EE educational lab.

APPLICABLE DEGREE PROGRAMS: Depending on the affilication of the student, this course counts as either a valid Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Biomedical Engineering course satisfying the departmental course requirements for each of these departments. Students from biological and health sciences are welcomed and encouraged to take the course.
