Juan
Valderrama
Juan
and I met at Extravertical Climbing
Center in
NYC in
December 2000. We climbed together in Mexico, France, and throughout the
Northeast until he moved to Austria in 2003. Juan was the person who
really gave me my start in climbing and I am grateful for all his help
in the early years. He now lives in Colombia with his lovely wife, Annica Carlson,
originally of Sweden.

| Eric
Aldenhoff
Eric and I are friends from college and shared an apartment together in Baltimore for 2 years. We still see each other often and occasionally climb together in the Gunks. Eric and I also spent 4 days in Joshua Tree in November 2002, when this photo was taken on Saddle Rocks. We also made a trip to the New River Gorge in October 2003. Eric is a professional firefighter and paramedic in Baltimore. |

NYC. We climbed rock and ice together quite a bit in the Gunks and Adirondaks and he used to climb frequently with my brother. Matt and I made a 2 week trip to the Alps in August 2002 and climbed several 4000m peaks including Rimpfischorn and Allalinhorn. This photo was taken at the campsite in Zermatt. Matt is a jet aircraft mechanic and works at JFK airport. |

| Felix Danila Felix and I also met at Extravertical Climbing Center, shortly after I moved to NYC. He was my regular partner after Juan moved to Europe and we have climbed ice and rock together extensively in the northeast. We have also taken several longer trips together, including the San Juans in November 2003 and the Cascades in June 2004. Felix works in the computer field and is originally from Romania. This photo was taken during an ice climbing trip to Crawford Notch in New Hampshire. |

| Philippe Gerschel Philippe and I met at the gym in spring 2003, shortly after he started climbing. We've made many trips to the Gunks together and climbed for 4 weeks together in Chamonix in 2004. We also made a trip together to Joshua Tree National Park in April 2005, where we climbed a ton of excellent routes in perfect weather. Our last trip was again to the Alps in June 2005, when we climbed still more classics. Philippe has since completed law school.. |

David Huang
David and I met at the indoor wall at Chelsea Piers in NYC in 2005. David had quite a lot of sport climbing experience, but was interested in getting into trad climbing. We started climbing together in upstate NY in the fall of 2005 and have made several trips to the Gunks and Adirondacks, where this photo was taken after climbing Hesitation on Washbowl Cliff. David and I spent 5 days climbing in Joshua Tree in November 2005 and went on an ice climbing trip to the Canadian Rockies in 2007. |

Mary Chen, aka The Snow Goose
Mary and I met in the summer of 2006 after I came back from a climbing trip in Peru. We started climbing together all the time and made trips to Red Rocks and Joshua Tree during our first year together. In 2007, we drove across the country in a van, climbing alpine and trad routes in CO, WY, and SD. We made a similar trip in 2008, climbing in Canada, WA, OR, and CA. Mary isn't fond of alpine climbing, but she toughs it out. We're looking forward to leaving NYC in the next year. I'm really lucky to have found her. |
