Transport scaling
In the plasma limit, ?D<<a, particles are confined many orders of magnitude above the electron collision time
Very good confinement can be achieved at low temperature - but not absolute confinement.
- This should be compared to transport estimates in a pure toroidal field (Crooks and O’Neil, magnetic pumping)
- Confinement times are expected to be much larger in the presence of magnetic surfaces than in a pure toroidal field, as long as ?D<<a
- Boundary conditions affect the confinement time!
