Numerical solution of equilibrium equation
We have found 2-D equilibria on elliptical (b/a=?3) magnetic surfaces and uniform finite temperature.
- Ellipticity is usually the dominant symmetry breaking term in a stellarator near the magnetic axis
When |e?/Te| <ə (large Debye length), sD??D since ne?N(?)
When |e?/Te| >ɭ (high density, low Te), sD<<<?D
Three things are specified to determine the equilibrium:
- s(?)
- plasma size: a/sD
- boundary conditions (specified indirectly through image charges)
