This course is designed to provide an introduction to basic concepts in statistics and probability, and to get you up and running as quickly as possible analyzing real data and understanding the results.   The first half of the course focuses on the building blocks of statistical inference.   The second half covers some frequently used statistical techniques, with an emphasis applying ANOVA and regression to analyze real datasets.   Throughout, the course emphasizes examples from psychology and the social sciences.

Computer labs will be held once a week, in which students will learn to apply concepts learned in class to data sets using Excel and Matlab.
