  • Time and Place: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:40-9:55am, Room 833 Mudd (Call number 14845)

  • One Recitation Section: Sundays, 4:00-6:00pm in 303 Mudd (No Call number)

    • (TA's go over homework assignments before they are due on Tuesdays.)

  • Prerequisite: a first course in probability, such as IEOR 3600, IEOR 3658, STAT 4105 or SIEO 4150

  • Required Text: Sheldon Ross, Introduction to Probability Models, tenth edition, Academic Press, New York. This is a relatively new edition: ISBN Number 978-0-12-375686-2. It would be OK to use the ninth edition or the eighth edition. The changes are only very minor. The homeworks will be nearly the same. This book is routinely the textbook for IEOR 3106 and IEOR 4106. Many used copies should be available.

    • Recommended background text on basic probability: Sheldon Ross, A First Course in Probability, eighth edition.

      (It might be helpful to have another basic probability text available.)
