In 1977 when I joined Bell Labs, the OR Center (171) was headed by Director Warren Cornell, and was part of Area 17 in Research, headed by Executive Director Michael Wolontis. I was in departments headed by Cree Dawson, Eric Wolman and Chuck McCallum. Among my colleagues in the OR Center were Dan Heyman, John Klincewics, Beth Munson and Moshe Segal, now in the Network Design and Performance Analysis Department. Among my colleagues were David Burman, Shlomo Halfin and Richard Serfozo.
