Yinon Cohen is Yerushalmi Professor of Israeli and Jewish Studies, and Chair, Department of Sociology, Columbia University. He is a member of Columbia Center for Population ResearchColumbia Institute for Israel and Jewish Studies, and research associate at the Levi Institute.

Areas of research include social stratification, labor markets, rising income inequality, labor market discrimination, socioeconomic ethnic and gender gaps, industrial relations, International migration, selectivity and economic assimilation of immigrants, and Israeli society.
