Yinjia (Alison) Zhang

Instructional/UX Designer

I am a passionate instructional/UX designer, and an insightful journalist. I enjoy introspection and keeping up with recent educational trends. My love of creation, learning, and psychology reached new heights as an instructional technology and media major at Columbia University.

I have developed abilities of online curriculum design through graduate training, with a consolidated theoretical background of the cognitive side in education. Through creating online STEM courses on Moodle, designing an East Asian Film course for high school students at High Tech High School, completing projects such as designing a science inquiry software for primary school students, designing web-based learning environments covering topics on AGI, anti-cyberbullying, etc., and attending after school programs at the Anna Silver School, I gained experience in cooperating creative design ideas with real life learning environments.

This project is an attempt to provide an environment where students can learn life science in accordance with the national science standards, while engaging in an authentic process of scientific inquiry.

Creating online learning environment to help prevent suicidal behaviors

The project is based on theoretical understanding of how to provide users with skills to prevent them from getting involved in cyberbullying, both as victim and as perpetrator, and persuasive suicide information online through online communities.
