Our Services

Sexual & Reproductive Health at Columbia

Sexual & Reproductive Health services at Columbia are provided by a team of GHAP Peer Advocates, Health Promotion staff, and Medical Services providers. We are committed to providing Sexual & Reproductive Health education and advocacy for students of all gender identities and sexual orientations.

The Gay Health Advocacy Project (GHAP) was founded in 1985 to support Columbia students during the unfolding AIDS crisis. Its mission was to educate about HIV and provide HIV testing to student most at risk and the larger Columbia community. In 2015, GHAP advocates saw a need for additional reproductive health support for Columbia students. Reproductive Health Advocacy Project (RHAP) was created as a joint project within GHAP to provide contraceptive and reproductive health education to students. Since then, GHAP/RHAP has added PrEP/PEP consultations and supporting students seeking gender-affirming care services. GHAP/RHAP continues to grow and adapt based on the sexual and reproductive health needs of Columbia students.
