February 5, 2026
10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
America/New_York
Online Event Online

A 90-minute workshop for Columbia faculty.

Planning a new course but unsure where to start? In this session, participants will be introduced to backward design, a framework for course design that more effectively promotes alignment between learning outcomes, assessment, and instructional strategies than the traditional content approach to course design. Participants will have an opportunity to begin planning their spring course(s) with hands-on activities to practice the steps of backward design.
